| Nat_2005-29-07, 02:28 AM | Could one of my players say, take Exotic weapon proficiency(large scythe) as a feat? That way she could do like 2D6 with the X4 crit? is their a better weapon to use instead? Is monkey grip the only way? |
| Gingerbread Guy05-29-07, 02:40 AM | EWP doesn't work that way, I'm afraid. As the DM you could create a 2d6 scythe as a house rule, but thats entirely another matter. ~Ginger |

| dabrowns05-29-07, 07:42 AM | When you take EWP: Scythe you are proficient in all scythes, regardless of size. But size penalties are completely different and still apply. |
| Wharin05-29-07, 07:55 AM | No, EWP Scythe is the only option. Of course, that would be an option if scythes were exotic. As it stands now, a simple* martial proficiency will do. But getting to the OP's question: Monkey Grip will let your player wield a large version of what he wants, albeit at a -2 penalty for incorrect size. There is nothing "exotic" about it. Now as a DM, you could be in a position to create an exotic weapon called "large scythe" or "reaver" or what have you, which is effectively the same thing (minus the penalty, AND flexibility you'd have with Monkey Grip), but thats up to you. __ * By "simple" I mean, "just" or "only" or "easily". I don't wish to infer that there is a catagory called "simple martial". |

| Goreg Skullcrusher05-29-07, 07:16 PM | You could design an exotic weapon with the stats you're looking for. There's a 1d12/x4 weapon in Races of Stone, so it wouldn't be unbalanced with what's been published. |
