Hi,

Just looking over the Extend Spell feat. Two questions:

Are rolled durations doubled or rolled twice (wondering if it's similar to Empower Spell here)? Take color spray for instance - if it affected 3 HD creatures they'd be blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds. Would an extended color spray last for 2d4 x 2 rounds or 4d4 rounds?
Do all durations in a spell with multiple durations get doubled? Sticking with the color spray example, 3 HD creatures are normally blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round. I assume you double all of the duration effects of a spell, so you'd be blinded and stunned for double 1d4 rounds (however you arrive at the number - see above) and then stunned for 2 more rounds. Correct?

Thanks in advance!

1. They are presumably just doubled. The whole "rolling multiple times" thing when you encounter multipliers is exclusive to critical hits as far as I know.

2. Presumably so. I hadn't thought of using certain effects like that (lesser stuff that still occurs on a successful save), but that should work.

If you actually have a spell with a rolled duration (for example, "1d10 + 1 round per level"), I'd say you roll twice just as you would for a critical hit ("2d10 + 2 rounds per level"). Off the top of my head, though, I can't think of any spells that have such a duration.
