I did a search for this question but nothing came up. Could the Extra Turning feat be considered a Divine feat? I know technically it is not, as it is in the Player's Handbook and not in the Complete Divine. Would this be game breaking, or was it an over site? The reason I ask, is a player brought up the fact the the Extra Wild Shape feat is a Wild feat and he wants to know if Extra Turning could meat the requirements.

Thank you.

By RAW, of course, Extra Turning is not a [divine] feat.

Personally, I don't think it should count as divine, because you don't power it with turning attempts. By that reasoning, Extra Wild Shape shouldn't be [wild], but I'd be more inclined to say that is the exception rather than the rule.

I'm going to have to disagree with you jaelis on the not letting it be a divine feat. EWS came out after core, in a book with other wild feats, and ET came out in core, before divine feats were made. I think it would be a reasonable houserule that Extra Turning is divine.

Actually, I think my position may be fairly defensible, at least based on the books I have. The description of divine feats says "Instead of attempting to affect an undead creature, you expend a turn or rebuke attempt to trigger the benefit of a divine feat you have." (PHB2) or "Each use of a divine feat costs a character a minimum of one turn/rebuke attempt from her number of attempts each day." (CW) All of the divine feats in those book actually do require expenditure of a turn attempt. Seems pretty solid.

In constrast, the general rules for wild feats say "Each use of a wild feat generally costs you one daily use of your wild shape ability." (CV) That is more flexible than the divine feat description. Furthermore the Savage Grapple feat in CV itself is an example of a [wild] feat that doesn't use a turning attempt.

That said, I don't really have the right books for it, I would think Complete Divine would be a more definitive source.

Each use of a divine feat costs a character a minimum of one turn or rebuke attempt from her number attempts each day. If you don't have any turn or rebuke attempts left, you can't use a divine feat.

Each use of a wild feat "generally" costs you one daily use of your wild shape ability.

Is how the CD defines them. Now the PHB2 is more accurate, anyway since it's newer, but the language between them hasn't changed much.

In short Extra Turning should not be a have the [Divine] Tag, nor should Extra Wild Shape possess the [Wild] tag. The latter is an example of an accident, imo.
