I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but anyways if i should take this to somewhere else please tell me.

I Have a Drow Hunting Moon Elf Ranger. He is lvl 10 Ranger and 1 Horizion Walker . He currently has 1st Favored enemy "Elf" should this be changed to Drow and only applied to Elves with Subrace "Drow", or is using "Elf" the official way to gain the Favored Enemy Bonuses? I also thought I read somewhere that if you choose your own race as a favored enemy, you must be evil. Is that found in 3.5 or something left over from one of the old editions. If anyone has any other ideas on how to make him an uber bane in the drow's side please offer suggestions. I have been thinking of taking the Desiganted Foe feat?

Obliteration is at hand. <("."<) <(".")> (>".")>

The favored enemy choice is Humanoid (elf), which makes you as adept at tracking drow as regular elves. The (ridiculous) bit of rules that said you could only FE your own race if you were evil was in 3.0 and has been removed.

Yup, all true.

I'm glad they got rid of that rule. It's not like you are trying to wage genocide on your own race. You can be good and just killing the evil members of your own race and it makes sense.

If you took the Elf Ranger Substituion levels you could choose "Servants of Lloth" (drow included) as your favored enemy. Your bonus increases to +3. It would work flavor-wise for the above character.
