| Deathmond04-13-07, 02:38 AM | So...would this feat be at all balanced? Favored Vestige Choose one vestige to which you have access. You form a close, mystical affinity with that spirit. Prerequisites: Soulbinding, Improved Binding, Diplomacy 4 ranks Benefit: You may bind your favored vestige in addition to the number of vestiges your binder levels grant. The vestige you choose must be one level lower than the highest level of vestige you can currently bind. Any vestige bound through the use of this feat is treated as if you failed your binding check. Special: You can take this feat multiple times. Each time you take this feat, it applies to a new vestige. This would let you bind your normal 1, 2(level 8), etc. vestiges and the Favored vestige(s) at the same time. Would this make the binder too powerful, should it have more prerequisites, should it be restriced to a certain number of times taken? |

| daladinn04-24-07, 07:38 AM | holy crap thats broken. even more broken then the published feat that allows you to bind vestiges as if your 2 levels higher. when asking if a binder feat is broken we have found that comparing them to a sorcerer was a good way to look at it. here is an equivelent feat , "broken feat #1" - by taking this feat you can cast double the number of spells per day then normal. this feat can be taken twice however its effects are additive not multiplicative (ie. 2x , 3x, 4x ... etc) binding more vestiges at a single time is what the class is all about. if your looking fo rfeat ideas along this line , try mimicing the magic items that allow you to "suspend" a current vestige. also remember the diplomatic penalties with vestiges |
| Deathmond04-24-07, 08:02 AM | Actually, I believe the web article on creating vestiges said to compare the Binder with the warlock. So this would be more comparable to Extra Invocation. Now that I think about it, adding the bit about it having to be a vestige one level lower than your max would probably be a good idea. |
| Sleepwalker1366604-25-07, 09:57 PM | What I would say is any time you bind vestiges this way, you treat them as though you failed your binding check. Thats the only balancing factor I think needs to be done. |
| Deathmond04-25-07, 10:02 PM | Good idea. Added |
| baltasar_basilius04-25-07, 10:24 PM | that seems more balanced with the last change. |
| DarkRhystar04-25-07, 11:59 PM | I made this feat (or a similar one) ages ago: Perfect Vestige Bonding (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=11385331#post11385331) |
