You wield the selected weapon with a methodical consistency that leaves you less vulnerable to the whims of chance. Prerequisites: Proficiency with selected weapon, weapon focus with selected weapon. Benefit: A natural 1 on an attack roll is no longer an automatic miss when making an attack with the selected weapon. Your attack roll must still beat the target's AC to hit, but if it does beat the target's AC, it hits even on a natural 1. Special: You may gain this feat multiple times. Each time, it applies to a different weapon in which you have weapon focus. A fighter may select Inerrant Strike as one of his fighter bonus feats. If you are using some system other than the 1d20 to attack system -- if, for instance, you are using a 3d6 based system in which a natural 3 is a miss -- then this feat may be adapted accordingly, according to the discretion of the DM. |

| jaelis11-07-07, 02:34 PM | I wouldn't say it is disrupting... mechanically, I'd say it is actually pretty weak for a feat. But I'd add a BAB requirement just because it seems like something related to being a real expert, and anyway low BAB characters are unlikely to be hitting on a 1. I'd add another benefit though, to make it worth while. |

| jaelis11-08-07, 12:45 PM | They have feats now making it so you don't fail a save on a 1, this doesn't seem much different. |
| JulesCARV11-08-07, 01:10 PM | Thinking about this, and comparing to the Improved Critical feat... Inerrant Strike is only relevant for a target with AC < Attack Bonus + 2. So, comparing Improved Critical on a weapon with a 20/x2 critical (like a mace), we see that with improved critical, the target makes a critical threat an extra 5% of the time, and confirms that critical 95% of the time (since we're specifying that this target has AC < AB + 2), doing 100% extra damage. So, against such a target, improved critical adds an extra 4.75% to damage over the average. With Inerrant Strike, on the other hand, you hit an extra 5% of the time, which adds an extra 5% of average damage to the hit. However, 1) Improved Critical is relevant even if the target's AC > attack bonus + 1, whereas Inerrant Strike is not, and 2) Improved Critical is usually applied to a weapon with a critical multiplier and/or range better than 20/x2. Since Inerrant Strike looks rather weak next to Improved Critical, I'm thinking that maybe the feats could have a Base Attack Bonus prerequisite of +6, but would, instead of being required for each weapon, be divided into two feats which would, combined, apply to all weapons: Inerrant Strike and Inerrant Shot, one for mêlée and one for ranged. Thoughts? |

Thoughts? Not bad, I like the idea of it being limited to one weapon personally, how about: Prerequisites: BAB +6, Weapon Focus in chosen weapon, Weapon Specialization in chosen weapon Benefit: Ignore the miss chance for any concealment less then total concealment when using the chosen weapon, also attack rolls of a natural one do not automatically miss the target when using the chosen weapon. Normal: An Attack Roll of one automatically misses the target. Special: May be chosen as a fighter bonus feat. It seems to me that this should be a fighter only type feat, hence adding weapon spec. | aelryinth11-08-07, 06:26 PM | Had this as a feat a Looooooooong time ago. LUCKLESS Skill is all. Pre-Req: Non-chaotic Benefits: You treat combat rolls and saving throws as skill checks. You no longer miss automatically on a natural 1, nor do you hit automatically on a natural 20. You ignore Luck modifiers that would affect any action of yours (positive or negative), including those of others (luck modifiers to AC, Saves, etc). Random events around you tend to stay around you and not affect you. You cannot learn wild magic. It's companion feat is: FATELESS You have no future or past. Pre-Req: Non-Lawful You are immune to Insight bonuses used for or against you. Your actions cannot be predicted, nor can you be part of any form of Prophecy, Fated event, etc. as seen by others. Attempts to see into your future or past reveal nothing. ==Aelryinth |
