Looking at taking:

Dual Strike

<SNIP -- no need to post the whole feat; just provide a page reference. -- WizO the Hutt>

My question, if I take this build and get people to provoke attacks of opportunity, could I use this to attack them with it? It is considered a "melee" attack....so any reason I couldn't?

Had though about using trip and such maneuvers, possibly mageslayer, and fighting with two light handed weapons.

EDIT: The feat is from the Complete Adventurer.

Dual Strike requires a standard action, so you can't use it for AOO's, which only allow attack actions. You would need the Double Hit feat from Miniature's Handbook to attack with 2 weapons on an AOO.

No Dual Strike doesn't work with AoOs due to the fact that AoOs are not a standard action. What Dual Strike does allow is for you to move upto your max base move and get one attack with each weapon instead of just an attack with the primary weapon. Fighting with two weapons is a full round action so you can only move the 5-foot step.

Quoted from rules by WotC:

You can use any special attack that you can use as a melee attack as an attack of opportunity. That includes disarming, grabbing someone to grapple, sunder, or trip. In the case of a trip attack, you must make the trip attack with whatever weapon you're using to threaten the area where you're making the attack of opportunity.

Are grapple, sunder, or trip non-standard action attacks?

Grapple, sunder, and trip attacks are described as a melee attack. My spiked chain fighters with the improved trip feat will do a trip attack AoO and if successful then attack for damage with the +4 for prone target.

In a sense, since you can make multiple grapple, sunder, or trip checks as part of a full-round action. In contrast, you can't make multiple dual strikes in a round as part of a full round action.

Benefit: As a standard action,

You answered it yourself. You can not do this for an AoO, because this action is a standard action and not an attack.

Yes, also disarm.

You gain an ATTACK of opportunity, not a standard action of opportunity.

Your feat doesn't say +1 attack with your offhand when you attack with the main hand. It says if you feel like spending a standard action to perform this unique option over here (which just happens to be a double attack), then go right ahead.
