| syaginf08-09-07, 11:22 AM | Greetings. I am planning to play a Half-Dragon exotic weapon master. I am planning to use spiked chain (Yes i heard opinion it is broken, no i never tried it before. No i don't plan to use it because it's so broken, i just like the fact that you can do stuff with it beside just bash people. I am also considering whip, but it's look like i will be main tank in the party so i might want to stick with chain for a simple damage calculation.) Anyway back to the main topic. Since I am going to be half dragon and putting many levels of fighter (at Least 6, possibly 9) i am trying to make a good feat selection. Specifically I am trying to find out which feats that are dragon type specific might been worth taking in this case. For example i know that I most likely will take dragon breath feat (from races of the dragon, allow to use dragon breath ever d4 rounds). But there are couple of feat that I am not sure about. Dragon Wings (Must be taken at level one, followed by improved dragon wings). Bonus to jump and ability to glide, with future ability to fly seems like a good idea, but i am not totally sure about it yet. Feat that allow to change shape of your dragon breath (Sorry do not remember source, help would be appreciated). Any other dragon specific feat that are worth taking? Advise greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

What makes a spiked chain nice is when you combine it with other feats, such as Improved Trip, etc. etc. But it is a so feat intensive - you can easily be a pure fighter, getting a ton of extra feats and STILL use up all your feats just on things that help the Spiked Chain. There is the usual weapon specfiic stuff (Weapon Focus et. al.), the AoO stuff (reach), the trip stuff, and the disarm stuff. Taking full advantage of those (particularly the reach) burns through your feats like they were mini- M and M 's. As such, I am hesitant to take that and ALSO devote feats to being a Half-Dragon. |
