Hey, I know wep finesse lets you apply dex to attack rolls, but is there anything that lets you do the same for damage?

Shadow Blade from ToB. Class features. Maybe another thing. Check the X stat to Y bonus thread linked in my sig.

I don't have ToB with me. Is this a hard feat to qualify for?

No, you just need to have a shadow hand stance. Using shadow blade it applies only to the weapons in the discipline.

So it woukd be cumbersome for a monk to qualify for it?

Well one of the Shadow Hand weapons is unarmed strike so its not entirely unsuited for a monk. To qualify for the feat though you'd either have to take a level of Swordsage or you'd have to take the Martial Stance feat first.

And Martial Stance requires that you know a martial maneuver, so you'd need to take Martial Study too. So you're looking at two prerequisite feats if you don't dip a level of Swordsage.

And this is the only feat that gives Dex to damage, right?

The X to Y thread mentions a deadeye feat or something like that. I can't find it anywhere.

Yeah, that occured to be about two minutes after I posted. I knew there was a reason I decided against taking it with my monk. While certainly a nice benefit, I didn't think it was worth three feat and the ToB classes were still under consideration by our DM at that point.

The only Deadeye feat I can find is Deadeye shot in PHB2, which does not add Dex to damage. There could have been a different version in Dragon Magazine or a third party supplement, but Shadow Hand is the only 'official' feat I know of.

I don't know of any other Deadeye feat; I couldn't find the one from the X to Y thread either. It might be 3.0 and outdated, or perhaps Dragon, but I don't hink I've seen it anywhere.

Is Dragon Magazine or Dragon Compendium OGL?

It says it's from Dragon issue 304 and p 95 of Dragon Compendium.

There's also Crossbow Sniper that adds 1/2 Dex

That may be, but there's no "Deadeye" in the name, now is there? ;)

Ah, that would explain why I haven't seen it--my fairly sparse Dragon collection includes neither that issue nor the Compendium.

My collection is a whole 3 issues that had things I liked.

I recently unloaded my collection, which was only missing a few issues from the years I'd collected. Gave them to a friend that had the shelf space I was lacking.

I'm not sure who even holds the rights for the Dragon content, whether it is Paizo or Wizards, but I don't think its under the OGL since I can't find any reference to it online.

It's not OGL.

Deadeye Dragon version is dex to damage with ranged though. And interesting tidbit for that other thread: it is precision based.

I believe the Champion of Corellon Larethian PrC gets Dex to damage as well. I've always house-ruled that every class gets Weapon Finesse for free at 1st level, and wrote an Improved Weapon Finesse feat that allows Dex instead of Str for melee damage, but it's considered precision damage.

Well, that's a houserule. So it doesn't really apply. Also, there are other PrCs that get dex to damage. Well, okay, one other: Corsair at level 9.
