I seem to recall a way for a cleric to get another domain ..was this a feat? If so where is it?

Extra Domain is the feat - but, IIRC (and, as of late, I don't) it was an Epic feat.
However there are PrCs that give extra domains as class abilities. The contemplative, with its "choose one domain, any domain" springs to mind. For the others, it's already fixed (or semi-fixed, you get an other domain if you already had the one that would have been granted)

While I don't think that it's imbalanced to be able to spend a non-epic feat to gain an extra domain, so far you can only get it with prestige class pre-epic. At least there are lots of prestige classes that grant extra domains (from Surreal's Lists of Stuff (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=662842))

Many domain powers are equivalent to feats, and some even grant bonus feats themselves. You don't find it problematic for a non-epic feat to grant another feat, in addition to extra domain spells?:P

Also you should notice that you get 2 of all the domains from your god that are listed but you can choose only one spell from either of your domain per day (and those numbers in domains are spell levels).
Certain prestige classes grant you more domains and certain prestige classes get more then one extra domains.
From Defenders of Fate

Contemplative Harrier: 2 extra domains

Divine Oracle: Divination as extra domain

Sacred Exorcist: Exorcism as extra domain

Sacred Fist: any domain

Warpriest: Glory for positive energy and domination for negative energy

Anyone can recommend me a good book which would be as useful as DoF for new priest players ?
As DoF is bit old for 3.5ed

One clarification to Surreal's list: a Cloistered Cleric is a variant of the standard Cleric class, not a prestige class. You lose some martial abilities and HP to get skill points and Knowledge as a third domain. It's a pretty reasonable variant.

If Prestige Classes didn't hand them out so frequently, I'd agree. :)

Uhm, Sala have you ever READ a Prestige Classes???

Prestige Classes routinely give out things that are FAR more powerfull than a feat.

More importantly, when WoTC publishes a Prestige Class they often will also publish a feat and simply have the PrC get the feat for free, without even requiring you to qualify for the pre-reqs of the feat.

The fact that Prestige Classes give them out is PROOF that they are too valuable to get from a mere feat

Power levels are:

Skill tricks
Feats
class abilities
Prestige Class abilities
Epic Feats
Epic Class abilities
Epic Prestige Class abilities

You can always use something lower on the list to duplicate something higher, but never the reverse.
