| KitchenSink07-19-07, 02:04 AM | In Masters of the Wild (3.0), Supernatural Blow allowed something like critical hits vs Favored Enemies who are immune to criticals, like undead. Is there anything in 3.5 that allows this? And where do I find it? |
| Morlachmir07-19-07, 12:52 PM | There's a spell in Libris Mortis called Spark of Life that allows crits on undead for the duration (pg. 71), and the second level of Skullclan Hunter (Miniature's Handbook) allows you to sneak attack undead. Couldn't find any feats though.. |
| SpaceHopper07-19-07, 01:06 PM | i dont know of a feat, but in the Magic Item Compendium, there's the Truedeath Crystal - for a relatively cheap (if you're in an undead-filled game) 10k, you get to do sneak attack damage, get an extra 1d6, critical hits, and the weapon acts as ghost touch, all when fighting undead. and being a crystal, you can swap it between weapons. A bargain. |
| foxtail07-19-07, 01:11 PM | Edit: Misread OP, nvm. |
| Puca07-19-07, 01:12 PM | Razing Strike, from CAdv. You need to be able to cast divine spells to qualify and sacrifice slots to make it work though. |
| Pandapeep07-19-07, 09:03 PM | This is a home rule I thought up and I'd most likely only apply it to undead, but you have to make a knowledge history check to remember that destroying a zombie's brain kills it and then you could crit. |

Although that is basically a called shot so you'd have to have an attack penalty or something. Also, you are now going for the hardest part of zombie, it's skull, which is not easy to pierce. I'd either just go with the spell, or make one if you don't have the proper book. Or make it a rogue special ability w/ a number of Knowledge (Undead, Mosters, Religon, etc.) Ranks as a prereq. but still have an attack penalty because you are going for one part of the body. |
| monkman3307-21-07, 06:45 PM | Or, there are a couple of itmes in the MIC that allow you to do it. |
| serow_#R07-21-07, 09:14 PM | Swift Hunter lets you apply skirmish to your favoured enemies, but that's not a crit though. |
| BlackHalfDragon07-21-07, 10:41 PM | the only exception im making in my campaing is for a ranger/clr of kelmvor who hunts undead. it makes sense as if he studies undead and has them as a favored enemy he knows how to lay the smashyness on them. just house rule but i kinda think its good. if it gets over powered more uber undead can just be immune (eg bodaks aren't your every day encouter (neither are zombies unless you are in resident evil but they are more common :P) so no no on them but yes on zombies, skeletons, vampires (people know about decapitation) etc. |
| Board_Rider07-22-07, 12:46 AM | I believe there is a variant of some sort in the FR supplement Champions of Valor that allow a sect of Kelemvor followers to use critical hits vs. undead. I cannot recall specifically but something was there. |
