I have a player who is looking for a feat to remove/lessen the penalty for the Dragon Mag feat "Troll-Blooded"

Troll-blooded gives regen 1, but your fatigued in sunlight.

is there a feat he can take to lessen/eliminate this penalty?

I know about "Tireless" but its a 1st level only feat and he can not take this one.

He could take one level of Horizon Walker, and take the Desert Terrain.

The Toughness feat from Dragon 318 reduces the steps of Exhaustion/Fatigue by one, where Fatigue gives no penalty, and Exhaustion causes Fatigue instead. Raging Troll-Blooded character with no Fatigue penalties becomes very nice.

Are you really talking about "Toughness" or "tireless"?

I know about tireless : "Fatigue/Exhaustion are reduced by one catagory" but its a regional(1st level) feat.

The player is a human.. .so he only gets 2 feats at first..

Troll-blooded has a prereq of Toughness(the +3 hp core feat)

and Troll-blooded is only available at 1st level also..

A 1st level fighter or a 1st level monk with (i believe) one of the varient martial styles could grant Toughness as a bonus feat.

If you (or your player) complains about having to take a specific class and spend 3 feats in order to gain regeneration 1 (fire and acid) with no real drawbacks, then either get someone to smack you or smack your player yourself, respectively.

I'm going to agree with Unusual here. If you don't want the downside of the feat don't take the upside. The feat itself would be severely unbalanced without the downside and wanting to do away with it is silly.
Does this feat actually grant regeneration or is it fast healing? If it is the former than it is overpowered anyways since the character could fight low intelligence creatures until the cows come home to roost. I'd take it over dodge or toughness any day.

1. Yes, the feat is unbalanced, even if the fatigue isn't negated somehow.

2. It actually grants regeneration, in which acid and fire deals lethal damage (like a normal troll), except it is 1 instead of 5.

Horrible, isn't it?

3. Toughness is actually a prerequisite, but for a 1st level character, Toughness is actually a damn good feat, and combined with what amounts to character immortality (and healing somewhere between 5 and 10% of your HP every 6 seconds), it just makes things worse. 2 feats should not be able to give a character regeneration unless that regeneration has SERIOUS caveats (no, 'fatigued in sunlight' doesn't count as serious).

I'm going to go with the obvious answer.

Buy an umbrella.

If you don't want the downside of the feat don't take the upside.
Or we can find a way to work around the downside such that we can benefit from both upsides.:) This isn't risk management 101, where we have to forgo any upside potential to hedge against downside risks.

Now that I am aware of the prereqs of troll-forged, I realize that a warforged cannot take it, and it would necessitate that he forgo his 1st lv body armour feat(unless you go dragonborn and opt to play a wizard, the only choice that actually mandates that its composite plating be removed). My mistake here.

An alternative would be to take it only when you are playing in an underdark setting, or some other campaign where sunlight will not be as prevalent. For example, you might be predominantly based in a dungeon setting.

Or you could try the CO boards.
