Feat: (psionic) Metamorphic Transfer of always on effects? [Archive] - Wizards Community

the feat metamorphic transfer (XPH, p.48) allows "three daily uses" of a supernatural ability.
How about all the supernatural abilities that are ongoing and have no number of uses.

Option:
a) I can not use them at all
b) The count as 1 use
c) ???

Example:
An Inferno spider's (MM IV, p.76) fire shield.

Any rules here?

05-31-07, 01:04 PM I believe there is a time limit for the always on, that counts as one use. It might be 10 minutes, but I am not positive.

You might try this on the psionic board, instead of the feats, it is more of a speality thing.

We've sent questions to CustServ and had every response sent back from "it doesn't work" to "until you end the shapechange" to "each round counts as a use" to "it's up to your DM, good gaming!".

We've sent questions to the Sage, and been ignored. (Note the current Sage Advice questions have all been, essentially, "RTFM".)

We've even tried contacting Bruce (back in the early XPH days). No avail.

This, along with what happens when a psicrystal dies, how Metaconcert actually works, and the vast majority of Complete Psionic, is why we claim that WotC doesn't bother supporting psionics.
