I'm looking for information concerning a feat or perhaps a Magic Weapon Ability that allows a person to wield a waepon as if it were a size catagory smaller, aka using a longsword as if it were a light weapon. The name "monkey grip" comes to mind as a possible feat name, but that might just be the crack talking.

Monkey grip does not actually allow you to do this. It functions more along the lines of allowing you to weild a weapon designed for a creature one size category more, only with penalties to the attack roll.

Summary:
More damage, less accuraccy. It's like a less versatile power attack.

No such weapon property exists in 3.5 or 3.0 D&D.

Ah, thank you for clearing that up for me, but my question isnt fully answered. Is there a way to use a waepon as if it were of a smaller size catagory? any way at all?

Perhaps if you mentioned exactly what you were after, we might be able to be more helpful.

Are you looking to use a one-handed weapon in your off hand with less penalties? Oversized Two-weapon Fighting from Complete Adventurer.

Or are you after being able to finesse with a weapon that you normally couldn't? I think that there are magical enhancements that allow this.

There's no known feat or magical enhancement that does this.

However there is the "feycraft" thingie in I think its DMG II. Basically converts a weapon to a light weapon but lowers the damage amount for the weapon. That might be what you're looking for.

I forget what restrictions there are if any on that or the pricing for such an item.

Strongarm Bracers from the Magic Item Compendium will allow it. You can also try the Sizing enhancement, again from the MIC.

Your question is worded a little funny, so I might not be on target.

If you want a medium weapon to actually take the properties of a small one, then sizing is for you.

If you want to be able to wield a medium weapon with less effort, aka as if you were large, then the strongarm bracers are for you.

In the spirit of full disclosure, some will say you still suffer a -2 penalty for using it in this fashion. My group and I say you do not, but that is for you and your group to decide. If you have no idea what I am talking about, check the PHB, chapter 7 weapons section.

Wield Oversize Weapon is an epic feat in Complete Warrior that will let you treat a weapon as one size smaller. For example it will let you treat a large size longsword as a medium size longsword.

Wield Oversize Weapon is a feat in the Complete Adventurer that lets you wield a weapon in your off hand (while TWF) as if it were one size catagory smaller.

In other words, you can use a rapier in both hands, and not suffer the penalty for not using a light weapon in your off hand.

I'm not 100% sure on all errata and official rulings, but any feat, racial skill, magical property, or any other bonus that allows you to treat yourself as one size catagory larger for using weapons, -does not stack in any instance-.

In other words, a half-giant fighter with monkey grip wielding a +1 weightless longsword in two hands (weightless is magical property in MIC), does not treat the longsword as if it was sized for a Colossal creature.

Actually the feat you are describing is Oversized Two Weapon Fighting. Wield Oversize Weapon is an epic feat in Complete Warrior as stated above.
