| TheAngryFish05-03-07, 10:21 PM | Dodge, mobility, and spring attack seem to be likely choices, maybe some archery feats, if you like that sort of thing, I think multiclassing rogue would be cool too. |

For dex fighters I suggest humans or elves Weapon finesse, as you said Dodge Mobility Spring Attack Combat Reflexes Improved Initiative Quick draw Elusive Target !!! What follows in terms of feats depends on where you want to go with the character. Ranged Fighter - archer feats obviously Two weapon fighting chain of feats Thrower - throw anything Combat Expertise chain of feats work well too |

I think in PHB2 |

While you can take it with no pre-reqs, it only becomes truly useful if you have Combat Expertise. With Combat Expertise, you only need to take a -2 penalty to attacks to get the extra damage from Deadly Defense. Without it, you need to fight defensively, which is an extra -2 to hit for no additional benefit. I'd also take a level or two of Rogue to get Sneak Attack, skill points and Evasion. |

In addition to Deadly Defense and combat expertise, I also suggest using the Broadblade short sword in Complete Adventurer. If you fight defensivly you gain an additional +2 dodge bonus to AC when weilding the sword, or if you shift at least 2 points with combat expertise. So for -2 attack with combat expertise, you get +4 dodge AC (+2 for combat and the additional for the sword) and you get the extra 1d6 for damage with deadlye defense feat. The only bummer part is the sword is an exotic weapon but at least it's light and finessable. |
