| gideon_guildbier02-10-08, 01:48 PM | is there a feat after great cleave that allows you to take a five foot step after killing an enamy- I have heard this and was told it's called something like grand cleave or greater cleave ? |
| WalkenDude02-10-08, 02:01 PM | I can't recall exactly but I believe that in 3.0 you could take a 5" if you had Great Cleave but this was removed in 3.5. This might of been what was being referred to but I could be wrong. |
| Krusk02-10-08, 02:40 PM | Frenzied berserker and one other prestige in complete warrior -sorry forgot the name- get supreme cleave which essentially is what you described. But they are prestige classes. |
| MC_Templar02-10-08, 06:21 PM | I think either the prestiege class feature or defunct feat was called heroic step, but I am not certain. |
| Netjack02-10-08, 06:35 PM | Do you mean take another five foot step after every guy? If I remeber correctly, you could take a five foot step at any time. |
| mplindustries02-11-08, 02:49 AM | You explicitly can't take a 5' step between cleave attacks. Cleave (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#cleave) "If you deal a creature enough damage to make it drop (typically by dropping it to below 0 hit points or killing it), you get an immediate, extra melee attack against another creature within reach. You cannot take a 5-foot step before making this extra attack. The extra attack is with the same weapon and at the same bonus as the attack that dropped the previous creature. You can use this ability once per round." Great Cleave (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#greatCleave) "This feat works like Cleave, except that there is no limit to the number of times you can use it per round." Supreme Cleave allows you to take 5' steps between cleave attacks, however, it is not a feat, it is a class feature. I know the Frenzied Berserker and Knight Protector get it in Complete Warrior. Additionally, as a 3.0 source that should still be valid, the Master Samurai from Sword and Fist also gets it (and as a bonus, Master Samurai is 169587164871 times better than the CW base class samurai). I don't know of anyone else that gets Supreme Cleave. I do also want to point out, however, that though it says nothing about limiting the number of 5' steps you can take between cleaves, it also says nothing about overturning the normal rule that you can only take one 5' step each turn either. So, yeah, you can probably take only one. And for some bonus cleave fun, see how much your DM's head will spin if you manage to get Supreme Cleave in the same build as Tactical Soldier's Delayed Cleave. Edit: What did this have to do with brawlers? |
| narack02-11-08, 08:01 AM | spring attack is what's coming the closest to that to my mind, but allow only 1 attack. SPRING ATTACK [GENERAL] Prerequisites: Dex 13, Dodge, Mobility, base attack bonus +4. Benefit: When using the attack action with a melee weapon, you can move both before and after the attack, provided that your total distance moved is not greater than your speed. Moving in this way does not provoke an attack of opportunity from the defender you attack, though it might provoke attacks of opportunity from other creatures, if appropriate. You can’t use this feat if you are wearing heavy armor. You must move at least 5 feet both before and after you make your attack in order to utilize the benefits of Spring Attack. Special: A fighter may select Spring Attack as one of his fighter bonus feats. |
| Silverthumb02-11-08, 01:57 PM | There was, in 3rd ed, a class ability for the Master Samurai, called Supreme Cleave which did exactly what you're looking for. Its from the Fighter & Monk splatbook. |
