Okay, I was thinking of making a character that didn't solely rely on his eyes to see, granting him the Blindsight Feat from Deities and Demigods. Problem I ran into was the short range. I was wondering if anyone knew of any feat that I could take that would allow it to operate at a larger range?

No, the character is not a blind character, so don't worry about that.

There is a spell that gives you blindsight. There also is a spell that gives you the extraordinary abilities of a certain animal. Whales are good for that (blindsight 120ft).

Headband of true darkness is blindsight 60, 9000gp, but while wearing it, you are actually blind. (A&EG)

It's actually blindsight 30'.

So no feats? Just spells and magic items?

The blindfold of true darkness has a range of 60' for blindsight as described on page 130 of the A&E.

mmm, there's a wild-shape basedfeat that gives it I think, but you have to burn uses of Wilshapoe to use it.

There is a blindsight 60' spell in Savage Species that can be made permanent for (I believe, I'll have to check) 2,500 XP.

The Blindfold of True Darkness has been updated in the Magic Item Compendium with a range of 30 feet.

And the blindsight spell has also been updated in the Spell Compendium, with a range of 30 feet as well, but there is a greater blindsight spell with a range of 60 feet.

Thanks for the correction I'm still figuring out how much of the MIC is useful. I could understand it having a range of 30' if the blindsight spell was used to make the item; but see invisibility is used with and it has a range of your vision.

Well, that's the beauty of D&D. It is totally your call on what is useful.:D

You might want to try looking through some of the Blindsight references in the Lists of Stuff (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=662842)... You might also want to check out some of the Tremorsense sources as well, since that's a pretty cool ability also. And there's also the Hear the Unseen feat from CAdv.. It's not as cool as Blindsight, but is pretty decent.
