Besides feats and class abilities that increase caster level, do you know of any feats that increase the difficulty of dispelling a spell you cast?

FR has a feat tenacious magic I believe that increases dispel checks by +2 or 4.

Yup, it's +4. It requires Shadow Weave Magic, though. :(

Well, thats all I got :P . Although a ring of spell battle at MiC's 12k is a steal to prevent dispeling as is using spellbane dispel magic in a weapon.

Yeah, I figured that this would be a tough request. The only other feat that I know of that directly increases dispel DC's is Mysterious Magic from Secrets of Xen'Drik. Items are a viable option usually, but we're notoriously gear-strapped in the campaign that we're in at the moment. Even 4,000 GP for a ring of counterspells is a pretty serious investment. :weep:

What level are you?

We're going on level 15.

Unfortunately, we're way, way below the gear guidelines for this level. I think my character has around 50,000 gp worth of equipment, and that's including things that he's crafted himself!

If I wasn't a cleric who could cast magic vestment and greater magic weapon, I'd be in even more trouble.

I think a feat in PHB II called elven spell lore (not sure if that is the exact title of it but its close :P) this feat helps with DC for dispelling and a few other things i'm sure but I don't have my copy on me at the moment.

The Spell Girding feat comes to my mind. I don't remember which book it's in but it increases the DC to dispel your spells by 2.

Otherwise Complete Mage has the ring of enduring arcana. I personally banned this one from my games.

These aren't feats, but spells might help.

There were psionic powers called something like Dispelling Buffer and another called Dispelling Screen. One of which gives you +5 to your effective caster level to resist being counterspelled/dispelled. The other is written in such a way that if you get dispelled and it is active, only the screen is dispelled, and the rest of the spells are safe (it does different things based on the area dispel and the targeted dispel, but you get the idea.) I think they have both been translated into arcane spells by now (I know one mage we were trying to take off the buffs of had the screen spell running.)

You know, my brain is working and it might be the same spell...And here I am without my books. Heh. Maybe this'll jog someone else's memory.

I remember Elven Spell Lore, but I thought that it added +2 to dispel checks instead of increasing the difficulty of dispelling your spells. I don't have the PHB II handy, though.

I don't think that Spell Girding seems that worthwhile, as it's only +2 DC for a feat. However, that ring's perfect. Thanks for the heads-up!

I took a look at the Spell Compendium and their version of dispelling screen. Their version functions like a wall of dispel magic rather than the psionic version which stops your powers from being being dispelled.
