| Sysane03-29-08, 04:25 PM | Question. The fell drain metamagic feat from Libris Mortis reads that any living creature that is dealt damage by the spell it enhances also gains a negative level. Would a spell that continuously deals damage from round to round continue to bestow further negative levels? Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated. |

| Sysane03-29-08, 04:32 PM | Thanks for the response. No elaboration on why it doesn’t work like that? Doesn't a maximized spell deal full damage each round for spells that continue to do damage for their durations? ? |
| LSMFT03-29-08, 05:22 PM | The feat says, if you take damage, you get a negative level. A negative level. It doesn't matter if you take a bunch of damage or a little. If you take it all in one round, or over and over and over. Once you've been damaged, you take a neg level. And done. Just because the spell may or may not do more damage later on does not make it a new spell or something. You took damage from the spell and got the neg level already. |
