| Solian05-20-07, 10:04 AM | One of my players wants to take fleet of foot as a feat, but i'm not sure what book it's in or the rules for the feat at all. I'd like to have a look at it before i say yes. Does anybody have any idea what book it's in? Thanks in advance -Solian |

Thanks in advance -Solian Along with it being a feat described (as was already mentioned) in Complete Warrior, Deities and Demigods, and Savage Species (if I'm reading WotC's Feat index (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/feats) correctly), a different (regional) feat with the same name is described in Player's Guide to Faerûn (and, originally (IIRC) in the FRCS, but PGtF has the 3.5 version). |
| Wollenator05-20-07, 01:21 PM | In Complete Scoundrel is a Skill Trick which does almost the same. |
| Sigfried Trent05-20-07, 09:28 PM | Actualy Fleet of Foot is also in the SRD so its an OGL feat. And of course you can find it in the Netbook of Feats (shameless plug) http://www.datadeco.com/nbofeats/nbofeats012.html#Fleet%20Of%20Foot I actualy took it for a character of mine recently to make a wierd kind of skirmish fighter. It lets you make a single turn up to 90 degrees when running or charging, which can be nice as a tactical advantage and really powerful when you are trying to flee by running since you can change course and your pursuer can not. |
| Darth Sephiroth05-22-07, 11:51 AM | Yep, Fleet of Foot is the name of two different feats. A regional one that increases you base speed, and a general one that lets you turn while charging. |
| BugHunter05-22-07, 09:01 PM | Yep, Fleet of Foot is the name of two different feats. A regional one that increases you base speed, and a general one that lets you turn while charging. The joy of two different sources using two different feat descriptions with the same feat name. Thankfully the problem has been answered in the FAQ for a different feat same problem. Both Complete Arcane and Player’s Guide to Faerûn include a feat named Innate Spell, but the prerequisites and uses per day differ. Which version is correct? Unless stated otherwise, any time that a rule appears in two different sourcebooks (other than the Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual), the most current sourcebook is considered correct and all previous sources are superseded. A book’s credits page lists its publication date (typically near the bottom of the page). In this case, Complete Arcane (published in November 2004) supersedes Player’s Guide to Faerûn (published in March 2004), and thus its version of Innate Spell should be considered the official version. So using this example, then PGtF (2004-03) +10' to land speed, replaces CW (2003-12) turn during a charge. Of course CS has the skill trick twisted charge. |
| Darth Sephiroth05-22-07, 09:36 PM | Not always, both Fleet of Foot feats are different things, the Regional one is just a feat they accidentally used the same name as a general feat. They are to different to be the same thing. Regional feats are something rarely used and is supposed to be powerful with other limitations (Namely that it can ONLY be taken at 1st level and you can only have one Regional feat), the other is a different feat with more generic purposes. |
