| Lord_Cerventes06-14-07, 07:11 PM | I have heard there is a feat that allows you to wear 4 rings. Is this true? What book is it in? |
| Antioch06-14-07, 07:23 PM | Extra Rings is found in Eberron Campaign Setting. It does have a few prereqs on it, none as steep as the Epic feat Additional Magic Item Space (which lets you wear one extra ring only if you take it for rings). |
| Yadot06-14-07, 07:57 PM | Of course, many of the so-called Epic feats are less than epic and worthless. |
| tarkin06-14-07, 09:08 PM | And some feats are too strong to be called non-epic feats, but people don't want to admit it. I have seen no epic feat that is not at least a 'good' non-epic feats. Not a single one can be called 'worthless'. The only way you can possibly call them 'worthless' is if you routinely use house rules to make your game far more powerfull than the average existing rules. But yes, some are worth 'less' than other epic feats. |
| risner06-14-07, 09:23 PM | There are no worthless epic feats, period. There is the Extra Rings feat and there is the Hand of Glory item that combined (if allowed) would net you 4 rings. |
| Dheran06-15-07, 02:04 AM | There is the Extra Rings feat and there is the Hand of Glory item that combined (if allowed) would net you 4 rings. I'm sure you meant 5 rings, because Extra Rings by itself allows using 4 rings on your hands. |
| Kevin Andrew Murphy06-15-07, 02:14 AM | An unslotted Hand of Glory and a regular Hand of Glory would also let you wear four rings. Of course you'd have to convince your DM to let you make an unslotted Hand of Glory, but it's a possibility. |
| Chronus1306-15-07, 09:55 AM | Isn't there also a sword of sorts in the Arms and Equipment Guide that lets you benefit from a ring placed on it's handle? Also, I can't remember if you could wield two of those swords with a ring on each to gain additional ring use... but if you can that would be awesome having 7 rings pre-epic. |
| Yadot06-15-07, 01:46 PM | There are no worthless epic feats, period. There is the Extra Rings feat and there is the Hand of Glory item that combined (if allowed) would net you 4 rings. What about Chaotic Rage? Spend one of your precious feats for an ability worth 8,000 gp. But the 8,000 gp is 1% of your monetary resources and the feat is 12.5%. Did I mention the feat only works while raging? Ignore Material Components doesn't remove focuses and nearly every spell costs a pittance at epic levels. Epic Weapon Specialization only adds +4 to damage. +4! A +1 enchantment can do more than that. There is no denying that many epic feat are good (such as Lingering Damage), but quite a few are not. |
| Fallenangel35906-15-07, 03:03 PM | I made a character that had epic weapon focus, and epic weapon specialization... twas an archer... Out damaged the mage, which is kinda impressive considering the mage would maw of chaos for 26-31d6 (wildmage) |
| risner06-15-07, 03:41 PM | What about Chaotic Rage? Ignore Material Components Epic Weapon Specialization only adds +4 to damage. +4! Every one of those feats are considerably more powerful than other non epic feats. As for your +4 to damage, are you serious? WS (at +2) is only beat by MWM in pre-epic arena. If you are going to tell me one of the top three feats if not the best damage increasing feat is not good, I am going to tell you that you can't do math. ;-) |
