For some reason, except for taking Expert as a class, I know there is a way to gain a skill as if it were a class skill, and I think it is through a feat. Any idea what that feat is?

(And just for clairification of what i mean...)

Say I am a 7th lvl fighter, and only a fighter, and I want tumble as a skill to be maxed out at 10, and not the usual 5 for a CC skill. Is there a feat or something that allows me to be able to take those 5 points?

Depends on what skill(s) you want. In the Tome of Battle, the Martial Study feat adds certain specicifc skills to your class skills for your character's career. I don't think Tumble is one, though.

Beyond that, multiclassing raises the skill ranks permanently to character level + 3, though you'd be paying double for every level the skill is a cross class skill. The Able Learner feat can negate the two for one cost, though.

In Unearted Arcana (optional material, so get your DM's approval), you can take a feat to gain a skill as a class skill, or take the Human Paragon to permanently make one skill a class skill.

Unearth Arcana you say? What are the prereqs for these two feats, may I inquire?

There aren't any Prereqs for Skill Knowledge (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/alternativeSkillSystems.htm#skillKnowled ge). Human Paragon (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/racialParagonClasses.htm#humanParagon) only requires being human (but it's a class, not a feat). Martial Study - your most official route - has no prereqs but is limited to only skills that are key skills for one of the ToB schools of maneuvers. If you take Martial Study, you also get a combat maneuver useable once per encounter (the primary benefit).

Desert Wind has Tumble as its key skill. So that would work.

Doesn't the feat Able Learner grant all skills as class skills for Humans? I came across this feat yesterday and if it works like this it is extremely overpowered.

Can anyone confirm, infirm?

You can buy skill ranks in any skill for just 1 skill point per rank (except for Speak Language) but if it is a cross-class skill you're still limited to a maximum of (level+3)/2 ranks.
So, a Fighter level 5 can buy a maximum of 4 ranks in Tumble, as usual, but it only costs him/her 4 skill points, rather than 8.

Able Learner doesn't make all skills class skills; it merely reduces the cost of cross-class skill ranks to 1 skill point. You still have to abide by the (3+character level)/2 limit on cross-class skill ranks.

Of course, if you take Able Learner, then multiclass with something that has a ton of class skills, such as rogue or factotum, you might as well call them class skills for all your classes, since the limit doesn't apply anymore.

Edit: Damn, Pentagram beat me to it.
