Okay, just a quick question for one player buddy, since I seems to be unable to find it...

Where is Gambling skill found if that exist, or how I would do for a character with a knack for it?

Profession (Gambler), actually. The Fatespinner has it as one of its class requirements.

Check the D20 Modern SRD (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/msrd). Check the skills section and you'll find it.

Profession (Gambler), actually.Yeah, that.

Point being, it relies on the Profession parent skill.

Now, usually I cringe whenever I see the "[Ability Score X] makes more sense than [Ability Score Y] for [Some Skill] and should be used!" threads, but in this case... Wisdom for gambling?

I'll admit, Profession is the best skill in its mechanics to represent the end effect of gambling. You gamble for X amount of time and you make Y gold, where Y is directly proportional to your skill. Great for figuring out how much the party fighter makes frequenting the casino for the week of downtime in a simple and quick manner.

However, I would say that Intelligence would be the most beneficial ability when gambling. Good gamblers can figure out the odds as the game progresses (and unscrupulous ones use that high Int to count cards ;)).

But that's not really an argument with the game rules, mostly just a suggestion for a house rule.

It is a profession skill. Also check out the web adventure (available on these boards) called "Luck of the Draw". It has some gambling feats in it.

If you're wondering how to play a character with a knack for gambling, well I'll give you some advice;
"You gotta know when to hold 'em... Know when to fold 'em..... Know when to walk away... Know when to run....."

sorry, I just had to:)

Intelligence plays a part of it, but Wisdom is key to gambling. With poker the most important part of the game is reading and figuring out your oponents. I have seen some dumb people who could barely tie their shoes do really well while playing poker. Being able to tell if someone is bluffing has nothing to do with Int. Now computing pot odds, and figuring out if the odds of your hand beating X number of other hands is Int. But for the most part gambling is all about Wisdom.

Also the the person that said Craps/roullet/blackjack is just luck:

I'm sorry but thats because you do not know how to play those games. You might know the rules but you don't know the startagy behind playing well. If you are only playing a few hand say 10-20 then yes most of it is luck. But if you are sitting down for the long haul the for most games you can take the luck factor out of the equation. Now having a good stratagy does not make up the fact that the odds are rigged in favor of the house. Thats just the mathmatics of the games.

Of course, Profession (gambler) would be an ideal choice, but what if the character were a cheat? I wouldn't say it's too far of a stretch to have a synergy bonus between that profession skill and, say . . . Slight of Hand.

Well, at that point you're not gambling anymore. Profession: Gambler is for gambling and Sleight of Hand is to cheat and make it seem like you are gambling.
