(RoD 150) If you're a half-elf the "Social Personality" is also interesting (and maybe the DM could house-rule it to give you Gather and Diplomacy as class skills if you took it at 1st level.) Even so, inventing a "new" feat shouldn't be a problem if one doesn't exist. Use either "Education" or "Noble Born" or something similar as a base, you can easily make a feat that gives you gather information and another social skill as class skills all the way (if the feat is taken as background feat (1st level only)). If the DM is a strict one, you could get 6 ranks in knowledge religion and select Ecclesiarch (EBp52) at 3rd level and gain Gather Info and Knowledge(local) as in-class skills. One of the most interesting gather info features I know is if you are a changeling rogue and replace your 1st level trapfinding ability with the racial substitution called social intuition. This gives you, among other things, the ability to make Gather Info checks in less than an hour instead of the 1d4+1 hours as normal, as well as the ability to always take 10 on G.I. (RoE 122). As for prestige classes, I can't think of any that really utilizes the gather information skill that much. Some spy perhaps. - Cru |

I am Elf (Bard1, Paragon3) and I am planning to become Fochlucan. Badly the requirements for this class are very high. I am looking for a prestige class to take at lvl9 and 10 having access to Gather Information, Perform & Decipher Script. |
