Good feats for Half-Orc barbarian [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-21-07, 12:26 PM I have level 5 Half-orc barbarian named Grumch Teurastaja(in english Grumch Butcher)
Abilities:
STR 20 DEX 14 CON 14 INT 10 WIS 14 CHA 6(yeah)
He uses Great axe as a main weapon, Dagger as secondary weapon and Masterwork Composite long bow as a ranged weapon. Armor is Master Work Breast Plate
His feats are Weapon focus(Great axe) and Power attack.
I focus more using Great axe and i'm thinking multi-classing him to fighter. What are good feats for him? I'm thinking to take Cleave because i'm the partys main warrior.

07-21-07, 06:20 PM Since doing lots of damage quickly seems to be your MO, I'd say go for weapon specialization, great cleave, and anything else that increases your rate of fire or damage in melee.

07-24-07, 12:32 PM Cleave is a solid choice. I don't think Great Cleave gets nearly enough use to be worth taking... it's pretty spectacular when you can pull it off, but it doesn't seem particularly optimal.

You might want to consider some of the feat combos such as Leap attack with Shock Trooper. Or Karmic Strike with Double Hit. If you're going to go into Fighter, definitely take a read through Dictum Mortuum's Fighter's Handbook (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=863508).

07-24-07, 12:40 PM Cleave is okay, but a bit meh imo. Great cleave is very situational - against a mob of low-level enemies. How about headlong rush from RoFaerun? You provoke an AoE from anything in your path, target included, but do double damage on a charge. Might be a bit broken with that option to get pounce for a barbarian, though.

07-24-07, 08:31 PM what books are you allowed to pick stuff from? You want to consider, if Unearthed Arcana is legit for your game, picking up 3 levels of Half-Orc Paragon (+2 strength, +1 rage use), and 3 levels of either Orc Paragon (+2 strength), or Human Paragon (bonus feat and +2 to any stat).

For Feats, I'd say since you have a crap ton of hitpoints as a barbarian, and a decent dex, take a look at combat reflexes, the spring attack tree, Robilar's Gambit + Side Step + Mage Slayer tree, (side step + mage slayer is sick).

07-26-07, 02:20 AM I'm allowed to take feats from Players Handbook 1 & 2 and Complete Warrior and Adventurer. I'm thinking also Mad Foam Rager of Intimidating Rage.
