greater grapple feat [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-27-07, 06:48 PM in what book would I find the Greater Grapple [General] and Perfect Grapple feats?? I can only find references to it on some web pages and the benefits are not always the same, so I'd like to find the book that mentions it...

thank you all for your help today.. :P I'm working hard on planning my monk.. :)

You might be thinking of Improved Grapple (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#improvedGrapple) for one of them?

If you're making a grappler, definitely check out the feat selection from Complete Warrior and a Prestige class in there focuses on grappling and wrestling.

*Please note grapplers are not builds you can rely on in later levels for mechanical advantages, but if its not a high-powered campaign and you have flavor for it, do it!*

but here is a pdf document I found on the net with many feats that do exist and it includes greater grapple.. I don't know the validity of this document though

05-27-07, 10:18 PM That website is mostly homebrew stuff, the feats probably aren't located anywhere else. You'll just have to clear them with your DM.

OA has Earth's Embrace, I think it's called, for improving grappling beyond the basic book.

05-27-07, 10:41 PM There's a feat in Sandstorm, Scorpion Strike or something, that effectively gives you Improved Grab. I've long ago changed that to Greater Grapple. See if you can get your DM to clear these two feats:

Greater Grapple
You are incredibly skilled at starting grapples.
Prerequisites: Dex +13, Improved Grapple, Improved Unarmed Strike, BAB +4.
Benefits: When you successfully strike a target with an unarmed strike, you may make an immediate grapple check to establish a hold. You do not deal unarmed damage with the successful hold as usual.

Oversized Grapple
You are skilled at grappling larger creatures.
Prerequisites: Dex +13, Str +15, Greater Grapple, Improved Grapple, Improved Unarmed Strike, BAB +8.
Benefits: If you have a penalty to grapple checks based on your size, reduce that penalty by 1/2. If you are grappling a creature that has a size bonus to grapple checks, you gain a bonus on your grapple checks against that creature equal to 1/2 its grapple bonus based on size. For instance, if you are a small creature (-4 grapple) grappling a large creature (+4 grapple), your grapple check penalty is reduced to -2, and you gain a +2 bonus to grapple checks, netting a total +0 modifier.
Additionally, you may grapple creatures up to three sizes larger than you without restriction.
Normal: You cannot grapple creatures more than one size larger than you.
