What would be good mechanics for a feat that granted the ability to throw a hadoken or its variants?

PHB2, Ki blast, if you insist on it being a feat.

Tome of Battle, Desert Wind maneuvers, to be a bit more accurate.

What Tempest said, plus Psychic Warrior (http://systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/psionicPsychicWarrior.html) or Fist of Zuoken (http://systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/psionicFist.html) with Expanded Knowledge (http://systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/psionicFeats.html#expanded-knowledge) (Energy Ray (http://systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/psionicPowersDtoF.html#energy-ray)).

Note that you can't spend more powerpoints than your manifester level on any power, including augmentation.

Other options:

A reserve feat, similar to Complete Mage, that lets you throw out an energy missile.

Or the Warlock's Eldritch Blast.

First a "hadoken" would have to be real, even in a fictional realm as "hadoken" is the technique used to throw [fireballs, psychic energy, or whatever you want to call it]. If you're wondering what it takes to throw a fireball through feats as a fighter? look at ToB, specifically the Martial Study feat and the desert wind path.

Tempest already mentioned Desert Wind. I guess it could bear repeating though. Tome Of Battle is a great book.

Or the Warlock's Eldritch Blast.

The ones in Complete Mage already work great for the hadouken. Invisible Needle, Fiery Burst, and Storm Bolt all fit the bill.

The Warlock's Eldritch Blast makes a great hadouken as well, and they can qualify for the Enlightened Fist prestige class (also in Complete Arcane).

I can't believe I missed these before. Thanks for pointing them out Avenger.

Orb of Force would be my call (with Empowering it for the Shinkuu Hadoken).

Wow. I never thought of Warlock and Enlightened Fist. I don't have my books on me, can you use the Eldritch Blast with any of the EF's class features?

Also, isn't it amazing how this has enough views to be a hot topic, with only 7 replies? Black Mage must be really loved.

"+1 Spellcasting Level" will of course effect eldritch blast damage, caster level, and what grade of invocations you can use. Beyond that, I'm not sure. It seems like you should be able to use Arcane Fist and Hold Ray with any invocation that requires a touch attack or produces a ray. Arcane Rejuvenation won't work, since Warlocks don't have spell slots.

Warlock 12 can qualify for Enlightened Fist. You don't need any monk levels to qualify, and EF gives you monk abilities (Wis to AC, speed, etc) even if you don't already have them.

If you want to multi in Monk to get in sooner, remember to take the levels in multiples of four. When you need to hit things, and you're taking 3/4 BAB classes, you always take levels in multiples of four. Monk4/Warlock4 qualifies for Enlightened Fist.

Note that due to the alignment restrictions, your character will either need to be Lawful Evil, OR become Chaotic when he starts taking levels in Warlock.

edit: Just a side note, could someone fill me in on where eldritch glave is from? I keep hearing about it but haven't found it in any book I've checked yet.

Dragon Magic, I think. I don't own it, but that's what I recall hearing.
