Hax Spell [Metamagic] Benefit: All typed bonuses granted by the adjusted spell become untyped bonuses. A Haxed spell uses up a spell slot ??? levels higher than the spell’s actual level. Too good? Not good enough? It seems to be in that nebulous area. And I have no idea where to set the adjustment. |

On the other hand, getting a magic item with an unusual bonus type is double the price, which seems to be on par with a slightly lower adjustment. The best way to judge, if you can find it, is to try to find spells that grant a bonus other than enhancement to anything. |
| navar10010-26-07, 02:11 AM | Consider a Hax Greater Magic Weapon spell casted upon a weapon already benefiting from normal Greater Magic Weapon. Hax Magic Vestment? Hax Mage Armor? Hax Greater Resistance? Hax Greater Heroism? If I recall correctly, a couple of years ago I offered a similar metamagic feat in that now closed :weep: 3E forum we frequented. It wasn't well received for precisely the reasons of the above first three spells. |
| Pechvarry10-26-07, 12:01 PM | Maybe add a clause stating that a Haxed spell, despite being unnamed, cannot stack with a non-haxed version of itself? Even then, I could see some rather potent uses for this. Even as small as making Tensor's Transformation awesome on gishes who already have enhancement bonus items. I've been playing epic recently, so I don't remember what balance is... I can't offer much more help. |
