It states that the creature is stunned for one round and ends right before the monk's next attack.

Does this mean that the monk can't benefit from attacking the stunned creature? If I attack and stun, that is my attack. Now the creature is vulnerable, but the vulnerability ends before the monk has a chance to attack again?

You are correct the monk can NOT benefit from the stunning attack. This feat is designed to allow the monk character to support his allies better.
example: Monk attacks with stunning fist and stuns the opponent. Then his rogue allies sneak attack said opponent to a bloody pulp.

I personally never use stunning fist, I prefer direct damage.

However, whomever the monk stuns in combat will not be able to attack them for 1 full round, and that is no small thing. They also drop whatever items they are holding, and this can be anything from their lunch-pale to their magic wand of hero-slaying, and that is no small thing either!

And let us not forget, Stunnig Fist is the prequsite for Freezing the Lifeblood!

Paralyzes for a few rounds instead of Stunning for one. You'll find it in Complete Warrior.

FTLB is okay, imo. I don't like that you do no unarmed damage whatsoever, and if they make their saving throw - which may or may not be modified by ki straps - then you've essentially swung and wiffed your turn.

I actually prefer the Pressure Point Attack feat as presented in Dragon Magazine issue 336.

...Use your second attack? You're a Monk. Flurry of Blows.

QFT! Stunning Fist + FoB's rocks!!!

Stunning Fist + Decisive Strike is good, too.
