| obscure_for_the_win07-11-07, 01:45 PM | I am interested in making a character focused on throwing splash weapons. This means my weapons of choice are flasks of acid and alchemist's fire. I'm looking at feats that will help build the threat of such a character. To this end I've got two questions: 1. I know about Grenadier and Mad Alchemist from PHB 2, is there anything else that helps someone throwing splash weapons? 2. Cheap fellow that I am...I want Craft (alchemy), but I also am looking to take advantage of sneak attack damage if possible. Is there a way to get around the spellcasting requirement or am I going to end up looking at an arcane trickster? As an aside, contact poisons also intrigue me for this character: any thoughts to help that aspect on the skill front? |

While it did mention Alchemical fire as a possible example, it is not that hard to avoid being set on fire. Specifically, it is just a Reflex DC 15 save. As for avoiding the spellcrafting requirement, that is pretty tough. I believe a feat should be able to negate that requirement, at least I personally would allow one to do so (not sure if an existing feat does it). |

Take a level of Psion so you get access to Minor Creation. Then, you can make any vegetable-based contact poisons at no cost. Black Lotus Extract, anyone? Also, you need to be a spellcaster to get Craft (alchemy), so you're not going to be able to dodge that requirement if you go Arcane Trickster. |
