How about this? [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-04-07, 10:23 AM I was thinking about taking weapon finesse for my Monk in a couple levels. Str is not my highest stat, and so I was wondering if this would be a bad/good thing to suggest to my DM.

If I decide to take Weapon Finesse, when I get my bonus feat of Trip/Disarm, I use my Dex modifier instead of my Str modifier for that ability.

07-04-07, 12:36 PM Yup go with weapon finesse dude or if you have a high WIS score , go for " Intuitive Attack " from Book of Exalted Deeds which lets you use your WIS score as the attack bonus .

07-04-07, 01:04 PM As per the rules no on trip but I think you would on disarm because disarm is an opposed attack roll.

07-04-07, 05:54 PM there are surtain martial manuevers that allow you to chose your dex or your str when making a trip attemp but those are special attacks.

also i allow "Hip throw" as a feat in my games. prereqs: improved unarmed strike and a dex of 15+. allows you to chose your dex or your str for trip attemps. (i took this from the idea of a judo hip throw since the art is geared more toward finesse the brute strentgh)
