What would happen if you used Imbue Summoning to imbue a spell of 3rd lv or lower but decided the Summon Monster spell you used with it was gonna summon multipule lower level creatures from a lower level list?

Would all the creatures have the imbued spell?
If they do should it cost more spell slots than the 1 spell you were gonna use?

Example: What if I imbued Shivering Touch into Summon Monster 9, but instead of one Elder Elemental, I decided I wanted 1d4+1 Huge Elementals, should all 1d4+1 Huge Elementals gain Shiver Touch? Should I have to give up a number of spell slots equal to the Huge Elementals Summoned for all of them to have Shiver Touch?

I believe there is a Sage ruling that the spells only apply to a single creature.

I personally would allow you to let a spell like water-breathing that is legal to use on multiple targets to work on all of them. But if a spell was normally single target, it would definitely only work on one target.

I guess that sounds fair.

And the more important, yet unasked question ... why would you want your summons to take 3d6 dexterity damage?

maybe i misunderstoud but i thought they'd have the imbued spell as per the imbue spell ability thus they could cast it.

I think that ability is meant for faster and smoother buffing. So presumably it'd have whatever effect it'd normally have, which is damage to them in this case.

The imbued is to buff the summon creature-not give it spells to cast. If it can be cast on another, like magic fang or Bull's strength, it will affect the creature. Burning hands would not work because emanates from you.

You could rule that spells that can target multiple creatures can be on all the summoned beings (like water breathing or haste). (as pervious post)

If you want the creatures to cast spells you need the imbue spell ability cast on them which will take awhile.
