Improved Spring Attack: Prerequisites: Spring Attack Benefits: As a part of a spring attack, you may move up to one and a half your base land speed (instead of just your base land speed), and for your attack, you may make any standard action that does not involve movement, such as initiating a strike or manipulating an object, so long as the action takes only one standard action. Special: A Fighter may take ISA as a fighter bonus feat. Improved Shot On The Run: Prerequisites: Shot On The Run Benefits: As a part of a spring attack, you may move up to one and a half your base land speed (instead of just your base land speed), and for your attack, you may make any standard action that requires as a part of it making a ranged attack, such as utilizing Manyshot. Special: A Fighter may take ISotR as a fighter bonus feat. I want to know if these are too overpowered for a feat; and if not, if they'd be too overpowered to just roll into Spring Attack and Shot on the Run; and if they are, how about as class abilities? Also: Magi Tumble Prerequisites: Concentration 12 ranks, Tumble 4 ranks, Dodge, Mobility, and one movement skill trick. Benefits: As spring attack, except as a full-round action, you may cast a spell with a range of touch and use the attack to deliver it. Special: Magi Tumble does not count as Spring Attack for the purposes of qualifying for other feats. |
| Sajek04-02-07, 10:23 AM | That means that as long as you had ANYTHING to attack along your movement path (even rocks, trees, or walls), your speed is increased by 50%. A hasted monk with Run and that feat at full sprint could do 705 ft/round. A more reasonable and likely scenario: an average human using that feat and just punching at the ground along the way could do 45 ft/round. |
| tarkin04-02-07, 12:24 PM | Improved Spring Attack: You took two good ideas and made them one feat. Try either A. speed x 1.5 B. Any Standard Action Either of these by themselves is worth a feat, both together is too much. See Fly-By-Attack for an example that lets you do any standard action, without offering the AoO protection of Spring Attack. Improved Shot On The Run: Same advice. Also you mentioned Spring Attack here. That alone is worth a feat, which would make it 3. Shot on the Run does not offer AoO protection and is NOT Spring Attack. Remove that refererence, or make another feat that JUST includes the AoO protection of Spring Attack. ------------------------ Magi Tumble Badly worded. Says Full round action. Also needs a limit, only working on spells with a casting time of Standard Action. Should read: When using the standard action to cast a touch attack spell, you can move both before and after the casting, provided that your total distance moved is not greater than your speed. Moving in this way does not provoke an attack of opportunity from the defender you attack, though it might provoke attacks of opportunity from other creatures, if appropriate. You can’t use this feat if you are wearing heavy armor. You must move at least 5 feet both before and after you make your attack in order to utilize the benefits of Magi Tumbling. |
