Improved Disarm w/o Combat Expertise [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-20-07, 04:54 PM What different ways are there to obtain Improved Disarm without having to burn a feat on Combat Expertise? And, a six level dip in Monk isn't an option.

12-21-07, 05:48 PM If you consider Combat Expertise "burning a feat", then you're out of luck. Fortunately, Combat Expertise is one of the better feats in the PHB.

12-21-07, 10:45 PM I only know of a way of skipping the prereqs for improved trip (snow wolf berserker lets you take improved trip without having to meet the prereqs).

Too bad there isn't an equivalent for disarm.:(

12-22-07, 02:41 PM there isn't via character developement. a magic weapon might bestow it, you could add a basket hilt to your weapon, change your weapon, etc.

you could always try critical thinking and strategy; big fan of having a PC purposely drawing out an enemy's AoO so that another, better suited PC, can perform a specialty attack, in this case a Disarm w/out fear of an AoO himself. it's like having someone w/ decent HD on defense w/ Mobility draw a reach enemy's AoO so the mage doesn't when he would normally move through a threatened square to land a spell nasty touch attack for example.
