Hey everyone, I have been having a little trouble working out which familiar benefits an Improved Familiar gets.

Specifically I am wondering if they get the improvements to intelligence and natural armor?

It seems like you do, but I just want to be sure...

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

The examples in the DMG make it pretty clear that the familiar's Int score is the higher of the creature's natural score and the Int score granted by the familiar ability. So a pseudodragon (normally Int 10) would have Int 10 until it's master reached 11th level, and it would follow the familiar table after that.

(Note that the listed ice mephit example is simply wrong, however.)

Ah, yes, sorry poor wording on my part, but the natural armor stacks?

Yes, natural armor stacks. Improved Familiars function EXACTLY like a regular familiar.
