Improvised Weapon Proficiency:
Prequisites: Base attack bonus +1, proficiency with all simple and martial weapons.
Benefit: The character gains proficiency with all improvised weapons that correspond to a weapon he is proficient with. For instance:

The party is walking in a market, when they are suddenly attacked by a bunch of orcs and goblinoids raiding the city. Battle begins. The head of this raiding party, a big fat orc, sunders Krusk's greataxe. In response to being left unarmed and defenseless with quick thought Krusk reaches for the closest weapon he can find- a cadavare of a big fish lying on a fish stand nearby. With this fish (considered a maul. d12 two handed bludgeoning *3)
he bashes the orc's skull into bits.

Normal: A character who uses an improvised weapon takes a -4 penalty as if not proficient with it.

I always considdered just using Exotic Weapon Prof to counter it, but this is better.

I think the point of the penalty to hit with an improvised weapon was to show how ungainly and unbalanced the weapon itself is.

Sure, a candelabrum will do damage like a Greatclub, but it's not really built to be swung that way...

There already is a feat that reduces the penalty to -2. And I agree with draco1119, there should always be a negative for this sort of thing.

There is also a 3rd party feat whose prereq is only a +1 BAB or higher and IMO that feat is fine as is.

I think your feat is balanced, if not too prereq intensive.
