| Isida Kep'Tukari07-18-07, 11:10 AM | I am currently creating a 12th-level soulborn to go against my party. While I have his bonus incarnum feats picked (Cobalt Charge, Midnight Dodge, and Sapphire Smite), I still have his regular feats to select. I'd like to get Bonus Incarnum at least once, and he will be taking Multiattack (because he will be attacking with multiple natural weapons, he's a lizardfolk). But I still have his 1st, 9th, and 12th level feats to pick and wanted some imput. I was probably going to have him use the Mauling Gauntlets, Bluesteel Bracers, and Fire Cincture (the party sorcerer is fireball-happy) soulmelds, probably with a hands chakra bind on the gauntlets. I am using the Dawnforge creation rules to make the lizardfolk, so I am already going to be able to get some Weapon Focus feats on his claws, bite, and/or tail attacks. What feats would be the most cool? More Incarnum stuff? Or should I bust out the Monster Manual to layer him with some Improved Natural Attack and whatnot? Do you have some better suggestions for his bonus incarnum feats? I have darn near every WotC book in print, so if you have a suggestion from one of the Complete books, I can most likely look it up. |

Preference should be given to feats that you actually intend to use, but more essentia is always better. Incarnum-Fortified Body is nice once you have a few [Incarnum] feats, but even that is a bit of a pain; basically a balancing act for when the added hp will be more useful than that 1 essentia. Feats that allow you to invest more essentia into a particular ability are very low priority for soulborn, because you will only have enough essentia to use them if you are focusing on one or two specific soulmelds. If you plan on making heavy use of smiting, feats that enhance smiting are floating around (Complete Champion and Complete Divine come to mind) that might appeal to you. |
