| dragonman197902-11-07, 11:41 PM | If i have a character with the Manyshot feat, and is capable of firing 3 arrows at a bow pull. If i were to fire 3 arrows at a critter with damage reduction 5/- with a normal bow and normal arrows, would i take 5 off of the total damage if my flight hits, or 5 dmg off each arrow? For example, i hit, and my arrows once all bonuses are figured out deal 7dmg, 4 dmg, and 6dmg, totalling 17dmg. Would i have truely dealt 12 damage to this critter, or (7-5) + (4-5) + (6-5) damage (3 dmg)? |

One roll, each arrow hitting or missing depending on that roll. The "higher" versions of Manyshot allow you to make multiple attack rolls, though. Each arrow is treated seperately. If a creature has DR 5/-, each hit is reduced by 5. So... For example, i hit, and my arrows once all bonuses are figured out deal 7dmg, 4 dmg, and 6dmg, totalling 17dmg. Would i have truely dealt 12 damage to this critter, or (7-5) + (4-5) + (6-5) damage (3 dmg)? ...in this example, the 7 is reduced to 2, the 4 becomes nothing, and the 6 is now a 1... for a total of 3 damage. This is why you, even as an archer, you want good strength to power a composite bow. |
