I've seen a lot of Warblade builds using this feat, and I have to wonder if people use it to boost their own saves? It says adjacent allies, and technically you are not adjacent to yourself, or is this ruled otherwise?

Its a pretty lousy feat. Most builds take it as a pre-req for one of the best tactical feats in the game: Stormguard Warrior.

Oh, and no, it doesn't affect yourself.

Very few feats truely suck. It's usefullness depends on what you are looking for. Sounds like this feat would be great for a second line fighter. For example marshall would be a good fit for this.

It's an altruistic feat. It's not meant to benefit yourself. It allows you to help others. You're a really nice guy to spend a feat that only helps others.

Aesthetically, though, it doesn't fit the Iron Heart discipline. It's more of a White Raven feel. <shrug>

Still not really, because it's still only people standing one square next to you, and does nothing really for the people you're behind, except maybe in a cramped dungeon crawl.

It's good if there's multiple fighter-types in your group and you tend to stand adjacent.

A paladin would like it to help allies' save vs fear within their aura of protection. A paladin is a type of person who would take it.

Except it only works when the Paladin is standing right next to them. How often does that happen?

(like someone said, this makes almost no thematic sense for Iron Heart. It wouldn't be so bad if it was Devoted Spirit and was, say, w/in 30'...)

Have someone ride your Mount with you. Heck, even your mount with get the bonuses =]

That's a bit strong for a feat though, isn't it?

Often enough if a player is taking the feat.

That was me. :P

I figured White Raven, but Devoted Spirit works as well I guess. Diamond Mind has a case for it.

*facepalm* I meant White Raven, actually; but yeah, I can sort of see Devoted Spirit.

CryoSilver: A bit strong for a feat? eeeh, maybe; but I don't really think so... *shrug* Maybe I just have some skewed ideas on that issue, though. A good feat, sure, but it wouldn't really begin to approach "must take" (though I guess if I had a Leader or Thrallherd I'd probably want my cohort to take it, or something ... or a Psicrystal if that'd work, but... most of the characters I've played still wouldn't take it.)

As mplindustries said, most Warblades only take it because it is a prerequisite for Stormguard Warrior. It's usefulness as a feat is... Well, not much in my opinion. But I can see some instances where it would be ok (the multiple frontliners party for one). And I also agree with those saying it doesn't fit Iron Heart's flavor well.

If 30 feet is too much, then how about 15? It would still see a lot more use if the radius were upped to even just 10 feet.

That's very true! This feat is a good one for anybody with a mount, especially weaker ones such as a Ranger's Animal Companion or a Wild Cohort (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031118a). It doesn't stack with Devotion, but Devotion doesn't apply to Fortitude or Reflex saves.
