| Tempest Stormwind03-10-07, 02:45 AM | It's blindisight but better in almost every regard. The easiest way to get it -- mindbender 1 -- also lets you speak to anything (regardless of language) within 100'. Mindsight lets you see that they're there, and know what direction they're in, AUTOMATICALLY, just because they think. You can even send them little messages ("I know you're behind me. Don't think you can win.") to them. |
| FrostHammer03-10-07, 02:47 AM | It'snot like blindsight though. blindsight lets you ignore concealment if it's due to...fog or lack of light, for example. Mindsight doesn't do anything with regards to concealment. It says mindsight lets me pinpoint an enemy to any one square. Blindsense does the same thing. So unless I'm missing something (oh please let me be misreading something here), mindsight is the equivalent of blindsense. |
| psionichamster03-10-07, 07:34 AM | blindsight allows you to know where an enemy is on the battlefield. mindsight, on the other hand, tells you where every thinking thing within range of your telepathy range is. as well as the ability to know the type and intelligence of said thinking creatures/. as far as combat goes, its useful but doesn't necessarily let you shoot arrows at the enemy. as intelligence gathering/battlefield control, it lets you know the invisible dragon with int 20 is in that square over there...and you can talk to him. not sure of your class, but with my beguiler/mindbender, its allowed me to stay unseen (or disguised) and influence people in quite interesting ways... funny how clerics react to being given instructions as if you're their deity, in their head, with bluff checks in the mid-to-high 50s -the hamster |
| FrostHammer03-10-07, 01:21 PM | Ahahaha! that's great! Just to be certain...if there is total darkness, and you have mindsight, and there is ny physical barrier between you and the target, can you cast ranged spells on the target? |
| snakebliskan03-10-07, 05:10 PM | i would say yes you know they are in that square . so you can target them! |
| FrostHammer03-10-07, 05:39 PM | I'd just have to roll the 50% miss chance. |
