If so, how much do you make? If not, what would be a good rule of thumb for increasing Perform checks. We're having our next session this friday, and there's a month between our adventures, so I'm going to spend my time making Sleight of Hand checks as Perform, to make money. (Which I'll give to the poor)

With my +16 Sleight of Hand, I'm bound to make a few 35+'s.

Not about money, but a use of perform with higher DCs.

I don't think you can use sleight of hand to make a perform check, though I know what you mean (magic tricks basically).

However, as to your main question:
I'd say it's fair to simply add another d6 for every 5 additional points past 30.

Actually, it (the PHB), under Sleight of Hand, specifically states that you can use Sleight of Hand as perform for the purpose of making money.

I know, however your first post makes it sound like you're trying to make a perform check (ex. Perform(stringed instruments)) using your sleight of hand check. Which you're not doing (correct?), what you're doing is more of a cup-and-ball type trick.

Actually, with a check like 35, it's more like making a yowling housecat dissapear. >_> But I digress.

There's an issue of Dragon magazine that posts results for Perform DC 40 & 50. You earn 1d6 and 3d6 platinum respectively, and are quite likely to attract outsiders to see your show (though I've never really liked this bit of flavor).

So...about 5d6 gold would be good for DC 35, then?

According to the Epic Level handbook (p42) you can sway a crowd very effectively. With a crowd starting out as indifferent, you can make them friendly with a check of 35, helpful at 50 and fanatic at 110. Fanatic would be people willing to die for you...
If they start out friendly, you "just" need a check of 40 to get them helpful. Which could be beneficial if you are willing to use them a bit...

Sadly, I would guess 40/50 is a little out of your range so far. Unless you can get a magical item to boost it further.
