| Ranger-9908-13-07, 12:31 PM | Is there a way to take the Improved Ki Strike epic feat without having 16 levels of monk, which is when the monk's acquires the Ki Strike (adamantine) ability required for this feat. For example, let's say you are a monk 8/cleric 2/sacred fist 20. Since the character does not have 16 levels of monk to get the Ki Strike (Adamantine) ability, strictly by the books he would not be able to take Improved Ki Strike, or any other epic feat that requires Ki Strike (Adamantine). Is there a way to get around this? Would the Penetrate Damage Reduction epic feat count for this purpose if adamantine is selected as the material? |

Calling it "controlled cheating" is a bit harsh. The idea here was not to cheat, as you call it. The idea is more that it seems logical to me that a monk-related prestige class should have some way to take some of the monk-related feats. Clearly, I could take 16 levels of monk, then at least 1 cleric, then go sacred fist the rest of the way, but then that's not as fun. It doesn't seem to be unbalancing to allow a monk-related character to take these feats. My suggestion of Penetrate Damage Reduction, for example, means that the character would have to take another epic feat before getting the feat he really wants, which seems like a fair price. I'm not asking to ignore the prerequisite. I'm asking if there's a feat or other class ability out there that emulates Ki Strike (Adamantine) for this purpose. |
