Isn't there a feat which allows you to gain 4 skills as class skills? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Hi guys.

I remember reading a feat in a book which allows you to threat 4 more skills as though they were class skills, instead of cross-class skills. Sadly I do not remember which book this was located in, and I need to find it by tomorrow for my character. If anyone knows what feat I am thinking of please let me know.

Any help would be very appreciated!

The only feat that gives you that many class skills is Educated, which gives you Knowledge (Arcana), Knowledge (Architecture and engineering), Knowledge (Dungeoneering), Knowledge (Geography), Knowledge (History), Knowledge (Local), Knowledge (Nature), Knowledge (Nobility and royalty), Knowledge (Religion), and Knowledge (The planes). All the knowledges.

Other than that, every other "gain a class skill" feat I've ever heard of has only ever given one class skill. The most widely accepted (in my experiance) one is Martial Study, which gives you a maneuver from Tome Of Battle and the class skill associated with the discipline that maneuvers is from.

Not that I know of, but there should be.

Making that up as a feat with say an int 13+ req or something, IMO, would be quite balanced.

I believe there is a feat in Races of Destiny that gives you 1 class skill of your choice (with some restrictions that I can't recall off the top of my head). THere's another feat somewhere that allows you to put skill points into a cross-class skill as if it was a class skill (but cross-class skill rank cap still applies).

The first level Human Paragon ability lets you pick a class skill forever.

That's about all that comes to mind. I think you might be thinking of a feat that gives you something like 5 skill points for each time you pick up the feat.

Here's one from the SRD that allows to take any skill as a class skill (see the special part)
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/alternativeSkillSystems.htm#skillKnowled ge

other than that, there are feats that allow you to use untrained skill, by all skill for one skill points (both in races of destiny, jack-of-all-trade and able learner), an different feats that allow you to take some specific skills as class skills.

Getting any 4 skills as class skills seems a bit strong.

If you're human, you can take Able Learner as a first level feat. It's in the Races of Destiny. It makes your cross-class skills only cost one point to gain a rank in, but you are still limited by the cross-class skill rank cap.

On the plus side, it affects every skill.

There is one skill that was not mentioned; Master feat from the DMGII. You may start off with the Apprentice feat from said book and turn it into the Master feat at fifth level. However, this (these) feat(s) are not approriate for every game, as these have a heavy RP prereq. to them (think Leadership). Though, this feat does qualify for what you've described.

What are you trying to acomplish exactly? You might be better served by using a variant class that has thoes skills.

Heroes of Battle stipulated Guerilla Scout and Warrior (recommended btw) under this principle...sorta'.
basically, it lets you dump ranks into Spot/Listen and Hide/MoveSil respectively, w/out the x-class penalty. however, you are still limited to the max ranks by x-class ruling.
this is especially nice for melee types looking for a gateway into Dread Commando, Ghost Faced Killer, and the like.
