Item to get Track [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-05-07, 12:58 PM Is there an item that allows a PC to use the Track feat (and see tracks
harder than a DC10)?

What I am looking for would only need to allow a player to use Track for
a few minutes to check out an area, not necessarily follow the tracks for
an extended period of time.

04-05-07, 01:35 PM Spear of the Hunt (Arms and Equipment Guide) grants the Track feat.

Goggles of Following (Masters of the Wild) give +10 to Survival checks while tracking.

Lens of Detection (DMG) gives +5 to Survival checks when tracking.

Rod of The Path (Epic Level Handbook) grants the wielder a +30 enhancement bonus on Survival checks for tracking.

04-05-07, 06:20 PM Buy any creature with Scent and train it for Track (DC20 Handle Animal). Or, you know, buy a dog, since they have Track as a feat by default.

to see who/if anyone was in the area resently a dog/etc won't help.

I am thinging of creating Googles of Tracking which give a +5 bonus to
your survival rating. In addition you can get the Track feat 3 times a day
for 10 minutes each time. If you already have the Track feat you can
re-roll 1 Track DR for each of the 3 activations. Cost would be 5000GP.

Anyone can do that already. Its under the descriptions for both Survival and Track. A Survival or Search check can find sign of a creature no matter the DC. You just can't follow it without Track when it is over DC10 (or at all in the case of Search).
