After a fruitless search through threads I'm asking directly.
Does anyone know/have or can make rules for what knowledge (lycanthropes) would do? I ask because a player of mine is playing a were-killer and is using a class from a third-party publisher, Legend & Lairs, called Path of Shadow. The PrC lists Knowledge(lycanthropes) as a requirement for the class yet I cannot for the love of god think of a what to use it for. I suppose I could use it for various tracks, attitudes or maybe in interactions with people who are lycanthropes but attempting to disguise?

any suggestions?

Remember 3rd Party, they don't always make sense.

I think you're suppose to follow the guide lines for regular knowledge (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/knowledge.htm); knowledge skill does not usually cover shapechangers (or lycanthropes;notice it's not one of the type in the descriptions), that's probably why they came up with this skill.

You can make it interesting by allowing more knowledge to be gained if it works only with lycanthropes. For example, a sufficiently high check (let say DC 30 or check beats the creature's AC), made as a move action or standard action (up to you) could allow the knowledge of a weak point and increase treath range of your weapons against that particular lycanthrope or bonus on confirmation roll, or it could give synergy bonuses to some other skill agianst lycanthropes (for example 5 ranks in this knowledge could give you +2 bluff or intimidate agaisnt lycanthropes). So that this doesn't become abusive you could built a feat that allow you to do all the above.

If this is not what your looking for, than go with my first mention of regular knowledge skill using Monster Manuals as guidelines of what kind of information you can get.
