Can a PC have ranks in a skill called "Knowledge: Monsters, legends, myths and lores"?

The skill lets you make knowledge checks (With this knowledge) to get monster lore (Learn things about monsters, like in the monster lore checks), and learn things in similar checks about legend, magic items, some characters, some classes, some spells and such.

Monster lore is currently spread out over several different knowledge skills. Lumping them all into one would make that one the most desireable.

I suppose you could put all the monsters in monster lore, and then use other knowledges purely for synergy and roll-playing purposes. That would work, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the current system. I like how it rewards a party for having different people with ranks in different knowledges.

These are already covered by the current Knowledge system.
Every monster type is covered under a Knowledge skill.
Legends and Magic Items of note are Knowledge: History (or Bardic Knowledge), possibly KN: Arcana depending on the nature of the item or legend.
Characters could be History (for the dead) and Local (for the living)
And so forth.

But I was thinking of a collector of stories/myths style knowledge,

I.E:

Knowledge:Arcana:
"Behold, this is a great monster, an aberration. It has multiple eyes, on eyestalks, and a huge eye in the middle of its hovering body, that produces an anti-magic cone. It can cast multiple rays from the minor eyes, including the dreaded disintegration ray!

Knowledge: Monsters, Myths, Legends and Lores:
"See there, the giant monster, it is said that no magic can penetrate its defensive huge eye! (OOOOooooOOOOOooo:shocked: ) And be aware! (Oh! ) The smaller eyes can turn a man into dust! ( :OMG! )

Isn't that called Bardic Knowledge?

Actually I'd think lumping them up like that would make that knowedge check too powerful. It would weaken the other knowledges (I'm not saying making them useless) while that one would just be too good to pass up. It would both give you intimate knowedge of a zombie's weakness while also telling you how a winter wolf lives, yet also giving you the quirks of a copper dragon. That's a little too broad. Doesn't seem like it would that worth taking KNowedge nature, Arcane, and divine if you can take that one skill.

Sounds like Bardic Knowledge to me.

Well, if it gives less info? I.E. What a DC10 K:Arcana gives, this one gives on a DC15, or DC20?

That is also sort of covered in the current system. From the Knowledge skill description:

Untrained

An untrained Knowledge check is simply an Intelligence check. Without actual training, you know only common knowledge (DC 10 or lower).

You can make an untrained Knowledge check, but it is only an INT check that can't exceed a DC 10 no matter what you roll. So everybody knows a little bit about very common things.

By the way, unless a creature is ruled extremely common, a DC 10 won't get you anywhere because Knowledge DCs start at 10 + HD of the creature.

You might consider allowing your players to make Knowledge checks untrained, up to a DC of 15 or so.

There is also a feat that allows you to used all Knowledge checks as if you trained them, I think it is Jack of All Trades but I'm not sure.

Not only does Jack of All Trades allows you to use all knowledge skills as trained, but also all craft, profession and performance skills (and all skills). All, including Knowledge: Tetris, Craft: sporks, profession: Hobo and Preformance: Chtulhu-worshipping musical.

Actually, craft and perform are anyway useable untrained.
