| Unholy_King12-22-07, 12:34 PM | As long as he meets the requirements. DM approval. |

I assume the question comes up because the cohort-owning player wants his cohorts to have their own cohorts and followers, thus increasing the total number of underlings at his own disposal. But the question becomes, once the cohort becomes a leader in his own right and has his own cohorts and followers, is he going to want to continue serving the original PC, or go off on his own and be a real leader in charge of his own troops? If the PC has become the equivalent of a feudal lord, one could imagine him giving his new cohort-leader his own small castle to command on his own. The cohort-leader would be independent, and no longer adventure with the PC, but he would owe him a debt of fealty and could well bring his troops to the battlefield in the event of war. IMHO, having a cohort take the leadership feat would be the first step towards losing the cohort as a cohort. YMMV, --- Wheldrake |
