| Papapop08-08-07, 02:17 AM | ok, i have power attack and when i -6 from my attack to use power attack with a great axe, thats a +12 bonus on damage correct me if im wrong now if i get leap attack and i do that is that -6 on attack now a +36 on damage(as in 12*3) or a +18 on damage(6*3) im thinking the latter but i just want to make sure thanks |
| DM Zoc08-08-07, 02:29 AM | Despite the exact wording, you are right to think it's +18 damage. It would be rather crazy if it was +36. |
| 1hitparry08-08-07, 04:24 AM | Check out the errata on complete adventurer. They changed leap attack so now you get 200% bonus damage, meaning you do +24 (12*2) extra damage from power attack. Or at least that's how I figure it. |
| tarkin08-08-07, 11:23 AM | No, they did not change leap attack. The entire point of the errata was to try and tell people that it is 18, not 36 and not 24. But they wrote it poorly. Cripes man, an example would have made it so much easier, instead they tried to clarify it with words and just made it harder to understatnd. |

I wish they would have worded it like they did with Momentum Swing in Combat Brute (Complete Warrior). |

Actually, to further confuse things, the CW errata for supreme power attack uses the same +100% wording and includes an example which would indicate it's 36 not 18. |
| 1hitparry08-08-07, 10:11 PM | Are you serious? The new wording really doesn't help the matter. Thanks for the clarification. |
| fire-blade08-09-07, 07:04 AM | if you subtract -6 you get 24 with leap attack. its clearly said in the errta you get +100% your normal bonus dmg the normal dmg for two handed weapon is 2 dmg for every point you subtract that mean's you get an extra 2 dmg for every point this mean: 1 point = 2 + 2 dmg = 4 6 * 4 = 24 |
| Nezkrul08-09-07, 11:35 AM | The erratta only changes the 2nd sentence of the benefit paragraph. The third sentence is unchanged, and it reads: "If you use this tactic with a two-handed weapon, you instead triple the extra damage from Power Attack." So unless there is an FAQ about this eratta that I'm missing: -1/+2 becomes -1/+6 with a great ax. |
| fire-blade08-09-07, 02:47 PM | i thought he was using 1 handed weapon, i forgot he was using two handed weapon |
| Spikes01k08-09-07, 03:02 PM | So if a one handed weapon used Leap Attack of 14 how much extra damage would he do??? P.S. OMDG I think I actually found a way that TWF actually works out for the better in some way! WOOT! So if I leap attack, with the proper feats, with two Bastard swords for 14 damage, I do an extra 56 points of damage, 28 points each hit. Where a two handed weapon does only 42. Is it worth the ecentually -4 to hit? IDK. Is it worth the huge amounts of extra costs for making two weapons instead of only paying for 1? no its not. |

Except that makes it completely obscene, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to make it 2:1 for a one handed and 4:1 from a 2-hander. But I've seen cases made for 3:1, 4:1 and 6:1. |
| Spikes01k08-10-07, 08:23 AM | Except that makes it completely obscene, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to make it 2:1 for a one handed and 4:1 from a 2-hander. But I've seen cases made for 3:1, 4:1 and 6:1. Leap attack is clearly supposed to do 2:1 (twice the damage than normal) for one handed and 3:1 for a two handed. This is obvious to give some balancing factor to a person who wields two one handed weapons. So finally you have some use where after a ton of feats you can get a 4:1 ratio when striking with two weapons. Grant it that theres a balancing factor that you need to actually hit with two weapons, but its a little more worth it. P.S. this is referring to the errata. Page 110: Leap Attack The second sentence of the Benefit paragraph should read as follows: If you cover at least 10 feet of horizontal distance with your jump, and you end your jump in a square from which you threaten your target, you deal +100% the normal bonus damage from your use of the Power Attack feat. It does not change the ratio of a two handed weapon which is actually pretty clearly 3:1 I am going to contact WoTC to end this once and for all! |
| Frugal08-10-07, 08:47 AM | It does not change the ratio of a two handed weapon which is actually pretty clearly 3:1 I am going to contact WoTC to end this once and for all! Unfortunately, it's not clearly 3:1 since the unchanged setting says that the bonus damage is tripled, since a 2-handed weapon does a 2:1 payoff some argue this means leap attack makes it 6:1 (doesn't follow standard rules for multiplying multipliers since power attack doesn't list it as a multiplier). Or, you say the +100% language is supposed to apply to 2-handers as well so that makes it 4:1. See what I mean? I'd agree that 3:1 or 4:1 seem the most likely options but I really wish WOTC would clear this up, and the "+100% normal" language in the errata doesn't really help at all. |

Is it just me or does WoTC hate TWF and Power attack. I would like to see something redeem twf some where. Why do they hat twf so much.... I have sent an E-mail |

Yeah, seems like they do, feat intensive, -2 penalties immediately puts it behind 2-handed, requires a full attack action to get the pay off (well, mitigated with, you guessed it, even more feats), etc. |

WTF! I am not happy, this is horrible service. |

From what I've heard, customer service is pretty unreliable for answers anyway, ask 3 times and you'll get 3 different answers. |
| Pechvarry08-10-07, 01:49 PM | Drizzt is weak, as printed. And TWF is an anagram-of-acronyms for WTF. |
