Pardon my ignorance, but what is considered a "threat" in relevance to this feat? Does it mean a considered hit? Or does it mean a possible crit? If they are refering to a hit then this feat could make a single round go on forever or until all enemies are dead. But if it refers to the possible crit then it is almost a wasted feat with only a 1-20 chance of getting an extra attack per hit.

A threat is when you roll a 20. A crit occurs when you confirm the threat.

So yes, lighting mace only kicks in 5% of the time. It is effectively the same as increasing the crit multiplier to x3, not all that great... might as well take weapon proficiency (war hammer).

It means rolling a 20 (or 19-20 with Improved crit).

If you're dual wielding them, that's up to 7 chances per round of getting a free attack.

its not that bad depending upon the number of attakcs you make without improved critical the chance to have AT LEAST ONE extra attack is

1 5%
2 9.75%
3 14.3%
4 18.6%
5 22.5%
6 26.5%

kind of blah but add improved critical.

1 10%
2 19%
3 27.1%
4 34.4%
5 41%
6 47%

not too bad at all.

is there some way to boos *** up another 1 that im unaware of?
because it would be awesome at 18-20

1 15%
2 27.75%
3 38.5%
4 47.8%
5 55.7%
6 62.3%

i use it, and its not that bad for a feat really with two weapon pounce and rend.

You can use the mythic examplar to get the crit down to 18-20 if your using a withering rod (1d4 str and 1d4 con and treated as a +1light mace) as your light mace this feat is worth it also if you can talk your dm into commander aruas and you have a cg party member with a rating of 5 he can get doublestrike commander which give another free attak on a nat 20.

The old Weapon Master had a way to extend the critical threat range, and the BoVD Disciple of Dispater could do it for metal weapons. Unless 3.5 decided to nix those abilities in particular - and the WM one is still present in Mind's Eye Psychic Weapon Master (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040827d) - they should work.

There is a +1 weapon enchantment in the Tome of Battle called Aptitude, which would let you use Lightning Mace with any weapon, such as keen scimitars/kurkis. And you'd still get the same effect (an extra attack) against monsters immune to crits, since you only need to threaten. And hell, while you're in the tome of battle, you might as well get blood in the water stance while you're dual-wielding your choice of 15-20 threat weapons.
