| Myriddian06-13-07, 01:12 AM | I found a feat the other day that enabled spellcasting in light armour with no chance of spell failure. Or at least I thought I did because now I can't find it when I need it....:banghead: Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. |
| Salla06-13-07, 01:36 AM | The feat Battle Caster increases the weight category of armor you can wear without suffering ASF, but does not give you the initial ability to cast in light armor without ASF. I'm not aware of any feat that grants the ability to cast in light armor by itself. |
| Muktar06-13-07, 03:34 AM | If you had lvls of fighter there is a 1st lvl switch ability that would allow you to use light armor while spellcasting but you lose shield, med, and hvy armor proficiencies. |

Off the top of my head, I know that the Beguiler and the Dread Necromancer have that as a class ability. Probably some other classes or PrC's. Await better answers. |
| Roivas06-13-07, 04:02 AM | Best just to wear Some Twighlight Mithral chain and be done with it. Or be a man and suck up the spell failure chance. I played a sorcerer/fighter from 2nd level to 18th, I got spellsword later but until then I had to centend with spells being dropped at the worst times. It made me really lean on magic missle as for some reason the dice just liked me when i cast that particular spell. I doubt a feat such as you state exists in any non-3rd party supplement. |
| tarkin06-13-07, 10:58 AM | The base ability you request is clearly a prestige class/class ability. It is more powerfull than a feat. A feat that comes CLOSE to that is: still spell. it costs each spell a +1 level slot, but does negate the problem for all three armor types. |
| tui06-13-07, 12:38 PM | Based on the Therran Feat Listing (http://www.devinweb.com/featlisting.htm), it looks like Githyanki Battlecaster from MM4 may be what you're looking for. It lists "Githyanki, ability to cast 2nd level arcane spells, BAB +3" as prerequisites. [Note that Therra is a homebrew world, so occasionally stuff there is slightly different from RAW, so you'll certainly want to check the original source before you rely on it.] |
| Angerland06-13-07, 12:42 PM | Duskblades also have the class ability to cast in armor. |
| Raiden Drake06-13-07, 12:49 PM | Base Classes that can cast arcane spells in ligth armor: Bard (PHB) Duskblade (PHB2) Battle Sorcerer (UA) Beguiler (PHB2) Dread Necromancer (Heroes of Horror) Armored Mage (Complete Mage) Warmage (Complete arcane) Hexblade (Complete warrior) That's all I can think of... |
